You can’t go wrong with a beard, right? The beard is one of the most definitive features in male grooming. But what’s even better than having an amazing beard is knowing which type to rock. Beard styles come and go so fast that we forget about the last few years of fashion and literally have to scratch our heads trying to wrap our minds around all of the different styles. Luckily, we’ve compiled a list of some timeless and classic beard styles that never go out of style; from facial hair dos to groomed beards you could wear every day.
The full beard is a classic look that never goes out of style. If you’re looking to grow full beard, you’re at the right place.
To grow a full beard:
A chinstrap beard is a classic style that has been popular for decades. It’s defined by a long mustache and a beard that comes down to just above the jawline, but doesn’t connect to it. The resulting look is similar to what you might see on an old-timey sailor or war veteran–in fact, it can be called “the bushy sideburns” if you want your facial hair to evoke images of Abraham Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt (or some other historical figure).
The key ingredient in this look is length: You’ll want your mustache and beard well-groomed so they don’t droop over your mouth too much; otherwise they may end up looking like muttonchops instead of a proper chinstrap! If your face shape calls for more coverage around the cheeks and chin area, consider growing out both sides of your facial hair instead of just one side (as pictured above) for added symmetry and balance between masculine features like square jaws versus softer round ones.
The circle beard is a full beard with a round shape, which makes it look like an inverted triangle. It’s also called the Van Dyke Beard because it was popularized by the artist Anthony van Dyck in the 16th century.
The circle beard is usually worn by men who don’t want to shave their cheeks or neck but still want to keep their facial hair neat and trimmed. The main advantage of this type of beard style is that you won’t need to trim your sideburns every day, since they’re already short enough!
The goatee is a beard style that is popular with men of all ages. A goatee is a beard style that is shaped like a V, with hair growing on the chin and upper lip but not below the bottom lip. The word “goatee” comes from the French word “goater,” meaning “beard.”
The history of this famous facial hair goes back centuries, but its popularity has waxed and waned over time. For example, in ancient Greece only young men were allowed to grow beards–and then only if they were wealthy enough not to need them for work or war (since both activities required being clean-shaven).
The Balbo beard is one of the most popular styles out there. It’s short and neat, with a mustache that can either be trimmed or left to grow as long as you want it to be. The hair on your chin should be trimmed to a length of 1-2 inches, while the sideburns can either be left long or trimmed down to match your chin hair.
If you’re looking for something more modern, this is an excellent choice–it’s clean and sharp without being too severe or outdated.
The French beard is a bit longer than the goatee, but not quite as long as a full beard. It has a more rounded shape and is shorter than both of these other styles. The French beard works well for men with oval or round faces because it adds some length to their face shape without making them look older than they are.
The best thing about this style? You can keep it trimmed to your liking–whether it’s trimmed close to your face or left with some length at the bottom, this look never goes out of fashion!
The ducktail beard is a full beard that has been trimmed to create a ducktail shape. The shape is similar to that of a mohawk hairstyle, but with a longer, straight hairline. The beard can be left as-is or shaped into different lengths depending on your preference. This style works well for guys with square faces because it adds definition around the jawline and chin area.
The Van Dyke beard is a full beard with a moustache. It’s also known as a Dutch beard, which makes sense given that it’s named after the 17th century painter, Anthony van Dyck.
This style has been around since ancient times and was popularized again in the 19th century by British royalty like King Edward VII who wore this classic look. The modern version of this classic facial hair style involves growing out your sideburns and leaving them ungroomed while trimming down your mustache so that it only covers your upper lip area rather than connecting across both cheeks like in other styles (like handlebar).
The mutton chops and sideburns combo is one of the most popular beard styles out there. It’s also one of the easiest to master, as it requires only a little bit of upkeep and dedication to get right.
If you don’t know what a mutton chop is, it’s basically just a long mustache with short hairs on either side of your mouth that look like chinstrap beards. The key thing about this style is that it doesn’t have any stubble–you want all-out facial hair growth here! In order for this look to work, you need some length in your sideburns as well (though these don’t have to be super long).
To grow out your face hair into proper mutton chops takes time–but once you’ve got them going strong enough, styling them doesn’t take much effort at all! All you need is some wax or pomade (or even just water) and maybe an electric razor if things get too bushy out there under those cheeks’ watchful eye…
The short boxed beard is a style that’s been around for ages and it never goes out of style. In fact, it’s one of the most popular styles for men who want an easy way to look great without having to put too much effort into their facial hair care routine. The key components of this look are:
Growing a beard is a huge commitment, and like any other commitment in life, it takes dedication and perseverance to reach the end goal. But along the way, you’ll enjoy the process as you learn to manage your facial hair. Whether you’re already sporting a beard or are thinking about growing one for the first time, welcome to the brotherhood, and I hope this guide can help you on your journey.
